Sonsray is a proud donor of Harvest Home where their mission is to transform the lives of homeless pregnant women and their children by providing housing, support and programs that equip women to become great mothers.
This year, Sonsray donated the Nation of Love family bedroom which will provide for a pregnant woman who is homeless and already has one child. In addition to housing, Harvest Home will provide case management, therapy, parenting classes and more.
The LA County Health Department reports that each year, 5,000 women are homeless at some point during their pregnancy. In LA, there are less than 70 shelter beds available for women who are pregnant and in crisis. Harvest Home provides 10 of these. This means that each year thousands of women lack housing and supportive programming during one of the most critical times in a mother and baby’s life.
Harvest Home’s specialized interventions are designed to increase physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. Each year, they transform the lives of up to 30 women and their families through their residential program. 95% of the program’s graduates transition into stable housing, 80% graduate with a job, 95% maintain custody of their children and 90% participate in the Harvest Home alumnae program.
